THE hotel where Ipswich Town’s squad will be staying, ahead of tomorrow’s tricky away game at Leeds United, is just a two-minute drive from Paul Jewell’s family home!

And yet Jewell won’t be sampling any home comforts, as he revealed during yesterday’s press conference.

“I live in the area, so if we lose, I’ll probably jump straight back on a bus and go back to Ipswich,” quipped Jewell.

“It will be strange going home, because the hotel we are staying in is about two minutes from my house.

“I think my wife is expecting me to stay at home, but she won’t get her wish!”

There certainly won’t be a warm welcome for Town’s 46-year-old boss at Elland Road.

Jewell rattled more than 300 senior appearances for Yorkshire rivals Bradford City as a player, and also went on to manage both Bradford and Sheffield Wednesday.

“I think everyone gets stick at Leeds!” insisted Jewell.
