IPSWICH Town's teenage defender Tommy Smith is likely to be out for six months after badly breaking an ankle today.

IPSWICH Town's teenage defender Tommy Smith is likely to be out for six months after badly breaking an ankle today.
The 18-year-old was injured towards the end of training today and will now need an operation.
Club physio Matt Byard said: “Tommy is in hospital and undergo surgery when the swelling has settled down.

“He has a badly broken ankle and ligament damage and will need an operation to repair the joint. That will take place sometime this week when the surgeon feels it's the right time.”
