Ipswich Town grabbed a vital victory with a 3-0 win over Wigan Athletic last night – and you can watch highlights here.
Freddie Sears scored twice and David McGoldrick got the other as the Blues ruthlessly punished some shambolic Wigan defending to record a comfortable 3-0 win at Portman Road and ease their relegation fears.
The second-bottom Latics were the architects of their own downfall as some hesitant play at the back led to all three goals, but take nothing away from the under-pressure Blues who produced their most enterprising performance in weeks.
Indeed, it was the first time Town had scored two first-half goals at Portman Road since April 2015.
With all the other teams around them at the bottom losing, Mick McCarthy’s men now have a nine-point cushion to the drop zone with six games to play.
Despite that, the boss insists Town are still not safe from the drop.
The Blues travel to Fulham on Saturday, before a Good Friday clash with Burton Albion and Easter Monday game with Newcastle United, on Sir Bobby Robson day.
