Kayden Jackson insists he and his Ipswich Town team-mates can’t simply bemoan bad luck as they continue to search for a first win under Paul Hurst.
The Blues suffered a 2-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday yesterday after defender Toto Nsiala was wrongly dismissed with 15 minutes remaining, following what replays showed to be a well-timed tackle on Fernando Forestieri.
An appeal is expected to follow but, even though his side were beaten by two deflected goals at Derby on Tuesday and lost Tayo Edun to a harsh red card against Aston Villa the previous Saturday, Jackson insists the Blues can’t simply wait to get the rub of the green as they look for their maiden three points.

“We’re obviously disappointed with the way the game ended because we felt we had more than enough to get a draw as a minimum,” he said.
“It’s out of our hands, the officials’ decision, but we have to be better. I’ve seen it back and it’s clear as day that it isn’t a red card but we can’t change the decisions.
“We have to react to it and we didn’t react well enough.

“When you’re on a run like we are you don’t get any luck. Everyone needs to work harder and we need to be better.
“We’re not going to get the luck, the ball’s not going to bounce our way, so we need to be better and work harder. We’ll do that and I’m sure we’ll turn it around quickly.
“We’ve got the players in the dressing room and I’m sure we’ll get that win soon.
Nsiala’s red card was followed by Lucas Joao’s winning goal within two minutes, as the Blues conceded from a set piece for the seventh time this season.

It’s an area Jackson knows his side must show rapid improvement.
“It’s disappointing because it’s something we’ve spoken about a lot within the group and we need to work harder to put it right,” he said.
“I’m sure we’ll get it right but it needs to be sooner rather than later to be honest.
“It’s about knowing your responsibilities and taking charge of things. We need someone to take charge.

“We’ve got Chambo back there and I don’t know how many headers he won in the game, but it was a lot, but we need more people putting bodies on the line. We’ll get there.”
