Webster, 20, secured a double victory at Snetterton over the weekend, and now leads the standings by 16 points with four meetings and eight races left.

Webster, from Stowmarket, who heads to Knockhill for the next round in just over two weeks time, said: “I do think that it’s between Michael Meadows and me now, but he had really bad luck at Croft and showed that the unexpected can happen to completely change things. It’s not going to be easy and I expect to have to fight hard to stay ahead of him.

“Michael has always been quick at Knockhill and I have never seen the circuit, so I have a huge amount to learn for the next round. I’ll just be working hard, learning as much as I can from the team.

“I’ve never driven a Porsche at Rockingham, so there will be a bit to learn, but Silverstone I know well, so I should be able to get on the pace quickly when we go there at the end of September.

“The final round is at Brands Hatch GP circuit. I’ve only ever driven the Indy circuit, so turning left at Surtees bend will be uncharted territory. I’m looking forward to that.

“Consistency is the key to winning a championship and I have had good solid results this year with 100% podiums.

“That’s why I won’t do anything different going into the last few rounds. The moment you start changing the way you drive because of the points, something disastrous can happen.”

Redline Racing driver Webster endured a miserable season last year, failing to score a point in the GP3 Series but has hit back with a vengeance in 2014.

“We had no idea how it was going to go, but I hoped that I would be able to run near the front and perhaps take a win or two by the end of the year,” said the former Suffolk One student.

“To have won five races at this stage of the season is way beyond our expectations and shows that I’m able to adapt to a different race car and learn quickly.”
