The club’s esteemed academy coach has been put in temporary charge of first team affairs for the final four games of the Championship season following Mick McCarthy’s dramatic choreographed exit in the wake of Tuesday night’s 1-0 home win against Barnsley.
Town – placed 12th in the table – travel to Nottingham Forest on Saturday and then end the campaign with games against Aston Villa (h), Reading (a) and Middlesbrough (h).
Blues owner Marcus Evans has said he will not rush into appointing the 16th manager in the club’s 82-year professional history.
