Lakeside Hammers 49 Ipswich Witches 41 Agg: 103-76
Ipswich Witches now just have the league to concentrate on after they were comfortably beaten in the second leg of the KO Cup at Lakeside tonight.
The aggregate result was no surprise after the Hammers beat an injury-hit Witches by 19 points at Foxhall on Thursday night.
But the Suffolk side put up a good fight in Essex, Connor Mountain again impressing on a track where he scored 10 for the Witches two weeks ago. Rory Schlein was another who scored well, but this was always going to be tough for the visitors.
Eddie Kennett was guesting for the injured Witches skipper Danny King and he did well to catch Ben Morley on the line in heat one to split the Hammers pair.

Zach Wajtknecht fell while leading the reserves race and was excluded. Mountain and Danyon Hume brought cheer to the Ipswich fans in the crowd with a 5-1 maximum.
Ipswich had taken the lead, something that had failed to do at all at Foxhall on Thursday night. It was shortlived as the impressive Adam Ellis/Kyle Newman partnership gated to victory in heat three.

Richard Lawson, who raced to a paid maximum at Foxhall on Thursday was soon to the fore winning the next as Alfie Bowtell closed in on Hume, who held on for third.
Mountain gated to the front in heat five, but Ellis passed him before Newman and the Ipswich reserve went toe-to-toe with the Hammers’ man winning out, although it was a decent ride from the Ipswich youngster.
Schlein gated to the front in heat six, with Mountain again to the fore.
Hammers’ No.1 Nick Morris eventually got past the Ipswich youngster.
Tayor Hampshire was guesting for the injured Michael Hartel, who was also injured at Foxhall on Thursday night. But he could do little as Lawson won again. Schlein won heat nine with an electric start.
The Witches continued to battle despite the tie being all over and Kennett and Schlein gained a fine 5-1 maximum in heat 13 and Mountain won heat 14
But it was Lakeside who went through
Meanwhile Mildenhall Fen Tigers completed a superb two-day double with a thumping National Trophy victory at Plymouth tonight. They won 61-29, with Drew Kemp getting a paid six-ride maximum Danny Ayres was also unbeaten. Mildenhall are at home to Kent on Sunday.
