A TENTH-WICKET stand of 57 between debutant Simon Rees and Andrew McGarry boosted Suffolk on the opening day of their Minor Counties Championship match against Cumberland at Ransomes Sports Ground in Ipswich today.
The pair, who came together at 300 for nine, enabled Suffolk to total 357 all out off 80.4 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first.
Skipper Phil Caley top-scored with 83 and all-rounder Chris Swallow made 55 as both teams collected the maximum four points on offer in the first innings.
