Leiston 3 Harrow Borough 0

Leiston defeated Harrow Borough at Victory Road to close the play-off gap to three points tonight.

Christy Finch should have netted in the eighth minute from Jack Ainsley’s through ball, but put his effort wide.

But Leiston took the lead after Byron Lawrence’s shot was pushed onto the bar by Melvin Minter, with Joe Jefford on hand to head home the loose ball.

Just three minutes into the second period, Christy Finch smashed home to give Minter no chance. Eleven minutes later, Finch hit the bar, but Jack Ainsley brilliantly chipped into Minter’s top right-hand corner. Finch had a shot blocked by Minter, while at the other end Marcus Garnham denied substitute Charles Banya.
