Mick McCarthy has been told by Luke Hyam’s agent that the midfielder is ‘going to accept’ a new contract offer from Ipswich Town.
The midfielder’s contract was set to expire this summer before the Blues activated a clause which allowed them to extend the academy graduate’s deal for an extra year, while a further extension was also offered earlier this season.
McCarthy says he has been told by Hyam’s agent that the midfielder will accept the offer.
McCarthy said: “I believe he has, I’ve had a message from his agent saying he’s going to accept our offer and I hope that’s the case.”
