BEN Coker, fresh from his first ever professional goal at Crewe last weekend, is targeting the next three games as make-or-break for the season.
Colchester United entertain fourth-placed MK Dons this afternoon, before embarking on their longest trip of the campaign to Carlisle next weekend, and then preparing for an FA Cup second round tie at home to Swindon.
The U’s are currently five points adrift of the top six, in 11th spot, so they need to take points off the teams above, starting against the Dons.
They have only lost four league games, all at the hands of teams in the top five – Huddersfield, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton.
“The gaffer has been telling us how big the next three games are,” explained Coker.
“It could be make-or-break for us this season, playing two of the teams above us in the league, and then having a chance to reach the third round of the FA Cup.
“MK Dons are a good team, but we are confident of getting a result against them.
“We have only lost two or our last 13 league games, so we are proving very hard to beat.”
However, United will have to cope without their influential centre-half, Magnus Okuonghae. The 25-year-old serves a one-match suspension for accruing five bookings.
