ALONG with the Tour of Britain, hundreds of families are expected to pick up their bikes for the free annual SkyRide in Ipswich on Sunday.

Cyclists of all ages and abilities can join in anywhere in the town centre car-free zone between 11am and 3pm.

There are special “activation zones” at the Town Hall, Old Custom House and Alderman Road Park where riders can pick up their free SkyRide bibs and event information.

Borough culture chief Bryony Rudkin said: “We are expecting a great deal of interest in the SkyRide event.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to ride their bikes safely and enjoy a fun day in the sun.”

The Sky Ride, which starts at 11am, will result in a large number of Ipswich roads being shut.

Those interested can sign up at www.goskyrides.com/ipswich or can simply turn up on the day and join a ride anywhere within the closed area.
