THE new head of the Football Association - a coveted post which David Sheepshanks chased - was announced today as Ian Watmore.
The 50-year-old was chosen was the new chief executive from a shortlist of three names which were announced yesterday.
Mr Watmore, who replaces Brian Barwick, will not start his new job until June once he leaves his post as Permanent Secretary for the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.
