We start today’s on this day from 1983 when John Wark scored a hat-trick as the Blues beat Blackburn 4-3 at Portman Road in the first leg of the League Cup second round.
It was 25 years ago today that Town beat Cambridge United 2-0 at the Abbey Stadium to progress to the third round of the League Cup, thanks to goals from Ian Marshall and Chris Kiwomya.
In 1991, Simon Milton and Steve Whitton scored as the Blues beat Oxford United 2-1 at Portman Road to make sevens wins out of their first 11 league games at the start of the 1991-92 season, with a young Jim Magilton scoring for the vistiors.
And finally on this day in 2014, Daryl Murphy scored twice as the Blues drew 2-2 with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, with the home side scoring a 94th minute equaliser.
