JOE Dunne was understandably in great spirits after Colchester United’s richly-deserved 2-0 win over Yeovil Town tonight.

Goals from Billy Clifford and Freddie Sears wrapped up the points for the U’s.

“It was probably one of our best performances,” enthused Dunne.

“That’s based on the circumstances and what happened on Saturday, and generally the mood after that game.

“We had a long discussion on Saturday, and we’ve had a good reaction today.

“We’ve been in all day and we produced a great team performance tonight.

“If we show more of that, please, then we will get out of the position we are in, because that’s the kind of performance it will take,” added Dunne.

The U’s are still in the relegation zone, but this win should give them renewed confidence going into the final 12 games of the season.
