CHELMSFORD City manager Glenn Pennyfather expects another difficult challenge against Hampton & Richmond Borough in tonight’s FA Trophy first round replay.

Max Cornhill’s second half strike for Chelmsford was cancelled out by Charlie Moone for the Ryman League Premier Division title chasers nine minutes later at the Beveree on Saturday.

The two sides clash again tonight at the Melbourne (7:30pm kick-off) for a place in the FA Trophy second round – and Pennyfather insists his players will face another stern test with the danger of a cup upset looming in the background.

“It goes without saying that we’ve got another tough game in front of us. I think this encounter will continue in a similar vein,” said Pennyfather, whose side are third in the Conference South.

“Hampton changed their system for the first match, set their stall out and made it very difficult for us.

“We’ll wait with bated breath to see how the weather turns out and it’ll be a slightly different surface [tonight].”

Several players will require fitness tests ahead of the match as the heavy schedule in four competitions begins to take its toll.

Meanwhile, tickets for the Crawley Town away game in the FA Cup will be available to purchase before the match.

Terrace tickets (with limited seating tickets) will be on sale in the clubhouse.
