Robinson told boss Tony Mowbray he is desperate to stay in the Premier League and is reluctantly resigned to leaving the Hawthorns.
The 30-year-old defender, who has spent nearly six years with the Baggies, said: “I can't face playing in the Championship again. I feel I've proved myself in the Premier League.
“I've always given 100 per cent for West Brom but I feel I need to be playing in the Premier League every week.
“If a chance became available for me I would like to take it. I've spoken to the manager and he understands my position.”
