In this week’s nostalgia, we take a look at when Hull and Ipswich shared the points at Portman Road in February 2011 as Jason Scotland and Jay Simpson scored in the 1-1 draw.
Substitute Jay Simpson grabbed a late point for Hull City after Jason Scotland looked to have put the Blues on their way to their third successive home league win under Paul Jewell in the 1-1 draw at Portman Road on February 19, 2011.
The Blues had dominated the first half without finding the net, but they finally went in front in the 58th minute.
Forward Jason Scotland was given the ball by then 17-year-old Connor Wickham and the Trinidadian shot low past City keeper Brad Guzan to put the home side ahead. It was his ninth goal of the season and the eighth of his spell at Portman Road.
But with five minutes remaining, Hull equalised when Corry Evans crossed from the left and sub Simpson who flicked a header beyond Town keeper Marton Fulop and into the net from 12 yards to grab a point for Nigel Pearson’s side.
