The title hopes of SIL Senior Division leaders Felixstowe Harpers were dented in a 3-0 defeat at Coplestonians, who were the much better side on the day.

Cops took a deserved lead when a fine run and cross from Kirk Ferniz was fired home by Brandon King after 27 minutes.

After the break, with Felixstowe looking dangerous, it was Cops who broke forward and Ferniz set up Will Davies to fire home in a packed goal mouth to make it 2-0 on the hour.

Then striker Perrie Soanes wrapped the game up in the 90th minute as he sped clear and finished well.

Meanwhile a rampant Henley Athletic dominated second-placed Benhall St Mary and came away with a well deserved 6-1 victory.

Erdum Artun, Arran Sheppard, Clark Bruce, Mark Storey, Byron Tejano and Connor Field netted their goals, while Ross Pemberton got Benhall’s only reply.

Capel Plough strengthened their title hopes with a seventh straight win, 3-1 at Grundisburgh, to move into third.

Josh Cook gave the home side the lead after nine minutes, but Dan Alderson stroked home a cross to level matters 10 minutes later.

A debatable penalty saw Sean Gunn give Plough the lead after 50 minutes, Churchyard adjudged to have handled a shot as he fell.

Grundisburgh were then denied what looked a dead cert penalty as Cook was felled in the area, before Harry Parkes made the match safe after 90 minutes.

Achilles sit in fifth after they got back to winning ways with a 5-1 victory over struggling Haughley United.

Darren Van Oene gave Haughley the lead early and Achilles had to wait until the half hour for an equaliser – a fierce shot by Lee Grimwood that went in off the underside of the bar.

A minute later Danny Garrad got beyond the Haughley defence and put Achilles ahead at the second attempt. Achilles added three more goals through Gavin Van Oene, “Scoop” McCarthy and David Grimwood.

Finally, East Bergholt United beat Westerfield United 2-1, strikes coming from a Nick Woolnough own goal and Andrew Newman. Craig Stuart scored for Westerfield.
