SNOOKER legend Jimmy ‘Whirlwind’ White will be coming to Ipswich on Friday, June 3 to play against local snooker fans at the Ipswich & District Billiards & Snooker League’s annual presentation evening.

Trophies will be handed out to league winners on the night, during which White will take part in three exhibition matches, as well as two against the winner of the raffle.

He will also be available afterwards to meet members of the public, have photographs taken and sign autographs.

Tickets for this event, which is taking place at Gresham Sports & Social Club from 7.30pm and is sponsored by Ipswich Cabs 289, are available to the public from today at �20 each, by phoning 07879 486390.

The Ipswich & District Snooker & Billiards League runs competitive snooker leagues and knockout competitions for registered League members throughout the year on Thursday evenings.

The Summer League runs from early June to late September and involves teams of three players playing two frames each, with the Winter League running from October to April for teams of six players playing one frame each.

During the Winter League season, Members may also take part in knockout competitions in various formats, including singles, pairs and four-man teams. There are also under-25s and over-50s competitions. Clubs are presently represented by teams coming from as far as Felixstowe in the east, Hadleigh in the west, Stowmarket in the north and Brantham in the south.
