AN APPEAL has been issued to Chelmsford City fans for their help to clear the snow from the forecourts at Melbourne Stadium and give the big local derby against Braintree Town the best possible chance of tackling the icy blast currently gripping the area.
The Clarets, who haven’t competed since the FA Cup game at Wycombe Wanderers nearly a month ago and fans will be able to play their part on Monday, December 27, at 10am by spending a couple of hours clearing the expected snow from around the clubhouse, main stand and other pathways ahead of the crunch clash the next day.
In addition, once the situation is known with regards the condition of the newly ‘verti-drained’ pitch, consideration may be given to clearing the surface of any remaining snow.
The removal of the snow on the Monday would allow the pitch to drain overnight.

The Bar will be open during the clearance process and bacon sandwiches will be provided for all the helpers. A number of snow shovels are already available, but if you can bring your own that would help!
The club is determined to get this game on and, with your help, to get our season back on track.
