IPSWICH ‘Sackers’ Witches faced the cameras ahead of their opening meeting at Foxhall against Rye House on Good Friday, 2.30pm.

The team were in buoyant mood, despite the freezing conditions, with all the riders hoping to make 2013 a year to remember.

Local boy Leigh Lanham will captain the Witches this season, riding at No.5, with England international Ben Barker the Witches’ star man at No.1.

Two teenagers fill the reserve positions, Adam Ellis and Cameron Heeps, and much of the Witches’ success will depend on how they can develop in the year ahead.

Finn, Jari Makinen and Dane, Morten Risager will race at numbers two and four respectively, while Rohan Tungate is at No.3. The Witches have, as yet, had no chance to practice at a frozen Foxhall circuit, with the home management hoping a thaw sets in before Good Friday.

But while there was no action on track there was plenty of snowball fights off it as you can see.

Team spirit seems to be little problem with the Witches of 2013.
