RIDGEONS LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION

Walsham-le-Willows 0 Felixstowe & Walton Utd 1

THE game was only a minute old when the visitors appealed vehemently for a penalty but the referee waved play on.

The first real chance of the game fell to Walsham when Hazleton found Musgrove with a terrific pass and his excellent cross was hit just wide by Gary Newman.

As the half wore on the visitors twice went close through Mills and then Bugg was forced to make a terrific double save to deny Felixstowe the lead.

In the second-half Felixstowe were clearly the better side and it was no surprise when Philips broke down the right for Frost to score from close range.

The visitors continued to have the better of the play and both Frost and Scope rattled the woodwork with tremendous shots.

Hetherington forced another good save from Bugg and although they had more of the play towards the end the hosts were unable to create any clear-cut chances.

Kirkley & Pakefield 1 Norwich United 1

THERE was a welcome return at the heart of the Kirkley defence for Leon Harewood in place of the injured Decoteau.

From Kirkley's second flag kick on 10 minutes a pinpoint Jamie Stockeld effort fell onto the head of Judd Chenery who flicked it onwards for Paul Highfield to head just inside a post.

Kirkley dominated for long periods in the first half but were unable to capitalise on some good chances and they paid the penalty in the second half.

They went off the boil dramatically and were pegged back on the hour mark when winger Martin Golder had too much space on the left-hand side of the box and hit an angled shot past a despairing Nathan Pauling. There was another scare for Kirkley in the 75th minute when Golder looked certain to score his second goal but it was cleared off the line at the last moment by Joe Jefford.

RIDGEONS LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION

Saffron Walden 1 Halstead 1

HALSTEAD picked up a point from a fine, exciting game at Caton's Lane.

In the early stages it was Walden who pressed strongly and Halstead had to defend with determination.

Keeper Rutherford was kept busy but the interval arrived with no score. In the second-half Halstead went ahead on 58 minutes when a good move was rounded off when Abrahams provided the pass for Bryan to score.

Halstead brought on Daily for his debut and continued to press. But on 67 minutes Walden drew level when a mix-up between Rutherford and defender Passfield let in Riches to tap home a simple equaliser.
