Division One North - St Ives 5 Ipswich East Suffolk 2
THIS was a tough match for IES and one which got off to an awful start when they went down 1-0 within the first few minutes of the game. Things went from bad to worse for the Ipswich side when Kerry Kemp was taken off after only five minutes with a facial injury.
St Ives capitalised on a shaken IES and built their lead to 4-0. A hastily rearranged formation steadied the Ipswich side considerably, and a fine shot by Shelley Pleasence made the score 4-1. A three player move five minutes later saw Annette White side step the keeper for a second IES goal.
The second half saw IES continue to press forward with renewed confidence, bolstered by some hard work from the whole team. However, St Ives scored one more to make the final score 5-2 and IES were once again left counting the cost of early mistakes.
