Two of Stowmarket Swimming Club’s strongest swimmers were selected to swim for Suffolk at the weekend, competing in the East Region Inter County Championships at the 50m pool in Luton.

To cap a fantastic season, the club’s overall champion, Rob Lancaster, swam in three events in the boys 15 and 16 age category. He came second in the 100m Breaststroke with a personal best of 1.10.65 minutes and then helped Suffolk to second place in both the Breaststroke and Freestyle relay.

Representing Suffolk for the first time, Thomas Clare swam the backstroke leg in the boys 11 and 12 age group medley relay, where Suffolk finished second. Thomas has also enjoyed a successful season, winning two bronze medals at the individual regional championships in May as well as finishing third overall in the Suffolk ASA County Championships in March.
