Sudbury Athletic finished the season on a high by beating local rivals G&C in a game of two halves. G&C were the better team in the first, after Athletic put in a poor performance, but Cleverly in goal was never troubled. Howe and Atkinson for Athletic were excellent at the back and kept the lively Smith quiet.

Athletic came out fired up after the break and were soon stretching G&C, with Jordon Twyman running at the defence and causing problems. Athletic nearly took the lead when Danny Twyman hit the post. Howe then went close with a header from Twyman's corner. Glitz made a wonderful run into the box but just could not find his pass to Twyman in space. Mark Adams was having a fine game out wide and put in some good crosses, but Pengelly in goal was on good form. Athletic made the breakthrough when the quick thinking by Glitz's early free kick found Danny Twyman who raced through to slot past Pengelly. Athletic's backline were in no mood to concede and were excellent throughout and with hardworking Densil Twyman and Ratcliff and McMahon in midfield, Athletic saw the game out to finish a good season with another victory.
