The Sudbury Upper School Year 9 girls football team have won the Suffolk County Cup following an exciting game against Kirkley High School at Bourne Vale Sports Ground in Ipswich.
The Sudbury Upper School Year 9 girls football team have won the Suffolk County Cup following an exciting game against Kirkley High School at Bourne Vale Sports Ground in Ipswich.
The Sudbury team were never behind as they led 1-0, 2-1, and then 3-2. However, Kirkley never gave up and were able to make the score 3-3 at full time. Following a goalless extra time, the girls had to face the dreaded penalty shoot out.
A save from goalkeeper Lois Lovering, along with another miss from the Kirkley player left Sudbury to lift the trophy with a total 6-5 win.
