Suffolk athlete Emily Moyes will be competing for Great Britain at next weekend’s European Cross Country Championships, following a gutsy run at the recent Trials in Liverpool.
Moyes will be in action in the under-23 women’s race, at Tilburg in the Netherlands on Sunday, December 9, after finishing fifth in her age group at last Saturday week’s British Athletics Cross Challenge meeting, which incorporated the Euro Trials.
The 20-year-old from Stowmarket, who until recently was a member of West Suffolk AC, is in her final year at St Mary’s University, and is one of two Suffolk runners in the Great Britain squad – Ipswich Harriers’ Jack Millar will be running in the under-23 men’s race.
“I knew I had a good shot at qualifying, but the race was really intense,” enthused Moyes.
- A full interview with Emily Moyes will appear in the ‘East Anglian Daily Times’ later this week.
