SUFFOLK Over-50s just about secured their place in the knock-out stages of the ECB 50+ Championship with a convincing eight-wicket win over Huntingdonshire at Ipswich School.
Suffolk restricted the visitors to 179 for six in 45 overs, with Graham Denny taking three for 38. Openers Neil Hames (80) and Chris Heron (50) put on 90 in return as Suffolk secured the eight-wicket win with four overs to spare.
Suffolk have now won four, lost one and had one match cancelled in Group Two. They play their last match against Bedfordshire at Flitwick today.
Scores: Hunts 179 for 6 (I Reed 55, B Cavilla 43, S Cox 33no, G Denny 3 for 38). Suffolk 182 for 2 (N Hames 80, C Heron 50, J Stuck 27no). Suffolk won by 8 wkts.
