SUFFOLK set up a home tie against Cambridgeshire in the second round of this season's FA County Youth Cup thanks to a three-goal victory at Watton Sports Centre on Saturday.

In a competitive match on an immaculate surface against a side featuring several players with academy experience with Norwich City, Suffolk opened the scoring mid-way through the first half when the ball was cleared only as far as Newmarket Town's James Lane who struck a superb 25-yard volley into the net.

Suffolk increased their lead ten minutes before half time when Needham Market's Luke Wade, who also hit the post following a free kick, intercepted a back pass and rounded the keeper before scoring.

Norfolk never really threatened in the second period and Suffolk added a third when Joe Clarke (Lowestoft Town) got in front of his marker and headed home from five yards following Wade's right-wing cross.

Although Wade was a threat in the final third of the pitch, the outstanding player on view was Suffolk's captain and Bury Town defender Elliot Hunter.
