Match highlights from Ipswich Town’s 2-0 victory away at Sunderland on Saturday.
The Blues came away with a valuable three points, after Joe Garner’s effort and an Adam Matthews own goal secured victory at the Stadium of Light.
Garner’s came on 35 minutes, when he brought the ball down, protected it well, shuffled to the edge of the box and fired the ball low into the bottom corner.
The second came just before half-time, when Grant Ward surged past his man and delivered a teasing cross that Matthews was only able to turn into his own net under pressure from Freddie Sears.
Martyn Waghorn would have dreamed of scoring a goal at Sunderland, having come through the club’s academy, but the striker’s goal drought goes on after his free-kick came crashing back off the bar before a one-one-one ended up going wide in the second half.
