SVEN-GORAN Eriksson has parted company with Manchester City, the club confirmed today.
City owner Thaksin Shinawatra was reportedly unhappy with the team's performance in the second half of last season and this led to weeks of speculation over the former England coach's position at Eastlands.
The club said the Swede's departure was by mutual consent.
Eriksson has been linked with the post of Mexico's national team coach.
Reports this morning claimed City have made an official approach to Blackburn in an attempt to bring in Mark Hughes as Eriksson's replacement.
