Teams are still able to enter the Thurston RFC Rugby Social Sevens which is taking place at the club on Saturday (April 26).
Up to now, nine teams have entered the event which is made up of a sevens tournament and then a boatrace competition, and the winners are determined by the points accrued in both events.
This is a very relaxed and fun tournament and any teams are welcome.
Last year, the tournament was won by the Thurston Silverbacks Vets team and during the event, there will be full bar, BBQ, hogroast, band and the option to camp overnight.
Organiser Oli Paxman said: “We held our first Social Sevens event last year and the teams that took part really enjoyed it.
“Obviously there is the Bury St Edmunds Sevens tournament in a couple of week’s time, which is a bit more serious, whereas this is aimed at being a more relaxed, social event and teams can get together who don’t necessarily play rugby on a regular basis.”
