Colchester United boss, John McGreal, is confident that his side can extend their successful run in the league, despite suffering double cup woes during the last week.

Before the U’s were knocked out of the FA Cup by non-league strugglers Oxford City, and from the Checkatrade Trophy by Essex rivals Southend in midweek, the U’s had been going great guns in League Two.

McGreal sees no reason why his team cannot continue their rise up the table, at Barnet on Saturday afternoon.

“We’ve had a great run of form in the league, and really turned our season around in the last seven league matches,” enthused McGreal.

“We just want to try and continue this good run. It’s a local game for us, as such, and I’m hoping that we can put the Cup disappointments to one side.

“The league has always been our priority this season. The Cup was just going to be nice distraction. I think this weekend is a good game for us,” added McGreal
