Whitton boss Shane Coldron feels his side will need little motivation as they head to Great Yarmouth this weekend.

The Bloaters beat Whitton at King George V, 1-0 just after Christmas in a tight affair.

The Norfolk side were battling relegation at that point and although they got themselves out of the drop zone for a period, they have fallen back into it of late.

Whitton, meanwhile, arrested a run of six games without a win, with an exciting 5-3 win over Kirkley & Pakefield last weekend.

“Following the excellent win against Kirkley & Pakefield we face Yarmouth whose fortunes have changed dramatically since a link up with pro club Stevenage leading to successful acquisition of work experience players of a high standard,” Coldron said.

“Having narrowly lost in the reverse fixture it shouldn’t take a lot for me to motivate my players as Yarmouth’s post-match celebrations suggested they had just won the FA Cup!”

Coldron welcomes back Adam Dunnage, Liam Wales and Harry Wales back into the squad.

“With our season to date fraught with injuries I am satisfied with our current league position and believe it to be an excellent achievement,” Coldron added.

“However we continue to strive to improve week on week to maintain our premier status and build for next season.”

Meanwhile, leaders Histon travel to Thetford, while second-placed Godmanchester entertain Long Melford.

There is a cracking-looking all-Suffolk local derby at Millfield, where Hadleigh, fresh from a battling performance in defeat against Felixstowe & Walton in the Suffolk Premier Cup on Tuesday night, entertain high-flying Woodbridge Town.

Basement side Framlingham picked up only their fourth win of the campaign at Long Melford last week.

This weekend Liam Abraham’s side entertain a Brantham team still pushing for a top five spot this season.

Walsham-le-Willows continued their rise up the table with a win over Wroxham last weekend. They head to Newmarket Town.

While Kirkley & Pakefield, who were on the receiving end of that eight-goal thriller at Whitton, will hope to get back to winning ways – they entertain FC Clacton.
