IPSWICH Town have today agreed to sign 19-year-old Middlesbrough defender Matthew Bates on loan until January.The England Under-18s international will link up with the club on Monday and play a part in the derby match at Norwich the following Sunday.

IPSWICH Town have today agreed to sign 19-year-old Middlesbrough defender Matthew Bates on loan until January.
The England Under-18s international will link up with the club on Monday and play a part in the derby match at Norwich the following Sunday.
Bates has made 32 appearances for Boro, 18 in the Premiership and was part of their successful FA Youth Cup winning side of 2004.
He spent a month on loan at Darlington in the 2004-05 season and can play anywhere along the back line.
