Saturday night sees a ‘Triple Formula Feast’ at Foxhall Stadium, Ipswich, as more top motor-sport comes to Suffolk, writes Dean Cox.

The popular UK Barn Finds, Historic Stock Cars return for another ‘dust up’ at Foxhall.

This Formula replicates Spedeworth Stock Car Racing’s rich history, none more so than at Foxhall where the Formula was idolised throughout the 70s and 80s.

Today, the diversity of this Formula still grids Triumphs, Fords and even the legendary MG Magnette together as the current modern day drivers battle for honours.

Back in the 70s these were named the ‘blood and thunder brigade’ by the late, great commentator, John Earrey, and likewise even today, you simply never know what is going to happen next!

No doubt the usual Ipswich clan of Howard Ottywill and Nick Dellar, in his very famous Bob Studd replica, will be in the mix.

Adding to the night’s action there will be a visit from the Stock Rods who are really on a crest of a wave with large grids of cars appearing almost everywhere and at time of press, already 34 are booked to appear this Saturday, where they are contesting their 2018 Polleysport/Yokohama Tyres Series Round 3.

Local hopes will be with Graham Booty and Chris Crisell-White as they compete against the very best drivers in the country that will be arriving at Foxhall.

The Bangers are also on the programme in a ‘Back to Basics’ specification meeting returning for another high speed, all-action meeting following their recent outings at Ipswich.

Local drivers competing include Gareth Parker and James Meadows who is racing to raise awareness and Funds in aid of the ‘Action for Children’ Charity for Teenagers suffering from mental health issues – so hopes are high for him to have a successful evening.

Turnstiles open at 5.30pm with racing commencing at 6:45pm.
