ENGLAND claimed a thrilling victory in the Cricket World Cup today, beating the West Indies by 18 runs in Chennai.
West Indies looked on course for victory, needing 22 runs with four wickets and plenty of balls in hand.
But James Tredwell (four for 48) returned to claim the key wicket of Andre Russell before Swann (three for 36) removed Ramnaresh Sarwan and Kemar Roach.
Jonathan Trott then ran out last man Sulieman Benn to seal a victory that keeps England’s hopes of reaching the quarter-finals alive.
