‘We don’t want to be learning too much!’ – David Wright

COLCHESTER United midfielder David Wright believes that his younger team-mates, many of them who are still in their teens, will learn from the experience of last weekend’s 3-0 defeat at Sheffield United.

However, the ex-Ipswich Town stalwart does not want the U’s to make a habit of coming off second best, at the hands of more experienced and more fancied opposition.

“It’s a good learning curve for our young players,” explained Wright.

“But we don’t want to be learning too much like this!

“We got off to an awful start with the (fourth minute) penalty, which is the last thing you want to do at a place like Bramall Lane.

“We were left chasing the game and had to be more open.

“But we rode the storm and had a good 20 minutes or so. We got Freddie Sears on the ball, and showed signs that we could hurt them.
