Ipswich ‘Sackers’ Witches moved up to third place in the Premier League table after a battling 45-all draw in the drizzle at Rye House on Saturday night.
Eight points behind after just five races, the visitors from Suffolk showed real grit on the tight Hoddesdon bowl, to bounce back and almost grab what would have been a deserved victory.
“It was a tough night for us and poor Ritchie Hawkins had a mechanical nightmare,” said Witches director of speedway Chris Louis.
“But all things told, I’m very happy to get a draw.”
