IPSWICH Witches will be sponsored by Sackers Recycling not just next season – but for the next three years.

That was the happy New Year message Ipswich promoter Chris Louis was able to pass on to the Foxhall fans today, as Sackers and the Witches tied up a new deal.

“This is just great news for the club and our fans,” Louis said.

“Sackers have supported our move into the Premier League. But they share my view that the club needs to be back where it belongs – in the Elite League.

“We are hugely grateful for their commitment for three seasons and of course that allows us to plan for the future.”

It was two years ago Sackers first linked up with the Witches as the team became known as the ‘Sackers’ Witches.

This three-year deal will take their sponsorship deal to five years

And Sackers director Adrian Dodds admitted the company were more than happy to continue their sponsorship of the club.

“It’s a good deal for us and it will take us up to five years of sponsoring the Witches,” he said.

“We have always wanted to be involved in a local team and we have built up numerous business relationships, as well as getting to know more people through our tie-up with the Witches.

“Plus the fact, we like our speedway and in a world of football, football, football, it’s nice to support other sports and local teams.”

The Witches season starts in March.
