Bury St Edmunds-based Spinning Wheel Theatre company brings a nostalgic and magical adaptation of The Secret Garden to life. Written by British-American author Frances Hodgson Burnett and first published in 1911, it’s set in England at the turn of the 20th Century and follows the story of a sickly 10-year-old girl called Mary Lennox learns about the magical healing properties of a secret garden. Bury Theatre Workshop perform Tom Stoppard’s classic comedy. Skipping between 1809 and the present day, two academics arrive at a Derbyshire stately home to investigate the history of the garden and a possible scandal involving Lord Byron.
