An exciting new play about the life of music hall star Marie Lloyd is to be performed at Southwold Arts Centre.
Norfolk-based theatre company Broad Horizons will perform The Little Bit The Boys Admire - The Marie Lloyd Story at the venue on Saturday, March 4.
The musical play is set in 1922 and tells the tale of Marie Lloyd’s chequered life as well as her rival - cross-dressing male-impersonator, Vesta Tilley.
In true Music Hall fashion, Marie and Vesta will sing many of their most famous songs - such as Don’t Dilly Dally, A Bit Of A Ruin That Cromwell Knocked About and Piccadilly Johnny - and audience participation will not only be appreciated, but expected!
Performances take place at Southwold Arts Centre, St Edmund’s Hall, Saturday March 4 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £10 and £9 for concessions.
