The library came to life in the playground of a Suffolk school today.
A spokesman for Sir Robert Hitcham’s Primary School in Framlingham said Harry Potter, Pippi Longstockings, Cinderella and Paddington Bear were amongst the most popular character choices as children paraded around the playground to mark World Book Day.
She said it was “like the whole library came to life on the playground” and added: “You could see that the younger ones in particular were just in awe at all the different characters and some of the costumes were just tremendous.”
Funds raised during the day will support Book Aid International, which provides books to people in developing countries and refugee camps.
A story book library has also visited the school, which will receive commission from sales to expand its own library.
