A landscape painter will be demonstrating her craft at a gallery open day tomorrow as part of a series of events aimed at making art more personal.
The Seizmond Gallery at Market Place in Saxmundham will be welcoming Suffolk based artist Myrtle Beale in the second of the new weekly sessions.
Gallery owner and photographer Jason Avery hopes the demonstrations will break down barriers between the artist and observer.
“It’s about making the work more personal,” he said.
“What I love about Myrtle is that she is a very quiet placid person but when she paints, the colours just explode on the canvas.”
The sessions will take place every Saturday in the lead up to Christmas, each featuring a different artist specialised in a variety of mediums.
Last Saturday saw portrait photographer Hugh de las Casas exhibiting his craft in and around the gallery.
“It was a great start but I think we can achieve more,” said Mr Avery.
