AXED Apprentice candidate Leon Doyle has admitted he hated the novelty teapot lamp which saw him fired by Lord Sugar in the latest challenge.
The candidates were sent to Paris this week to sell British products to the French.
And fast food marketing entrepreneur Doyle, along with French-speaking Melody Hossaini, persuaded project manager Tom Pellereau they should opt for the teapot-shaped lamp.
After being fired, he said of the lamp: “I definitely wouldn’t want one.
“Doing our market research people seemed to be nodding so we thought ‘yeah, we really must get this teapot’. And then we sold a few but we just didn’t get the big orders.”
But Doyle said he felt ‘unprofessional’ colleague Natasha Scribbins should have been sacked in his place after failing to sell anything, and being shown playing ‘scissors, paper, stone’ to decide who made a big pitch.
The young entrepreneur, who started the show with some confidence that he suggested the boys name their team ‘Leon-trepreneur’, insisted that being fired had not damaged his self belief.
He added: “It’s a rollercoaster ride, there’s highs and lows.
“Leon-trepreneur is still confident. I didn’t get it blown out of me.
“It’s just a hell of a ride, a hell of a rush. There are people there who are more aggressive and quicker to speak, or louder I guess.”
