DISNEY’S newest animated tale Tangled is Richard Bryson’s pick of the DVDs this week.

Disney finally gets round to the tale of Rapunzel and delights in all manner of hair and personal grooming jokes.

We get a streetwise princess, imprisoned by a mother (voiced by Donna Murphy) who you may have some sympathy for.

Then there is an airhead but likeable Errol Flynn type hero and a horse who, like the Donkey in Shrek, gets some of the best laughs on offer.

It’s beautifully animated, as you would expect, and even the songs by Alan Menken are reasonably catchy.
