The OVO Energy Tour of Britain will be racing through Suffolk today, find out where you can watch the race and what Suffolk roads will be closed.

Stage Six of the Tour arrives at Newmarket and finishes in Aldeburgh today`, September 8.

The races finish on Aldeburgh’s high street at 3pm but not before it travels through Dennington, Framlingham, Wickham Market, Grundisburgh, Kesgrave, Woodbridge, Melton, Rendlesham and Snape Maltings.

All of the road closures and parking restrictions will apply between 11.30pm on Thursday 7 September and 12midnight on Friday 8 September.

Newmarket

The following roads will be closed:

• High street, Dullingham Road to Bury Road, closed from 4am

• The Avenue, High street to Queensberry Road

On-street parking will be suspended on the following roads:

• All Saints Road, Old Station Road to Granary road

• Granary road

• Green Road, Granary road to The Avenue junction

Available parking

• You are able to park at any Forest Heath off street car park. Residents will have had a letter sent to their homes about the road closures and parking restrictions - that letter will need to be displayed in your car.

• George Lambton Playing Fields

Ixworth

On street parking will be suspended on High Street between Bury Road and The Landridge.

Walsham-le-Willows

On street parking will be suspended on the following roads:

• Ixworth Road, 100 metres prior to the Summer Road junction

• The Street

• Finningham Road, between The Street and Clay Street

Eye

On Street parking will be suspended on the following roads:

• B1117 Magdalen Street, from the Eye poultry entrance to Castle Street

• Castle Street, from Magdalen Street to Lowgate Street

Stradbroke

On Street parking will be suspended on the following road:

• New Street, from Woodfields to Doctors Lane

Framlingham

On Street parking will be suspended on the following roads:

• College Road, from Vyces Road to the Well Close Quare roundabout

• Bridge Street, from the Well Close Square roundabout to Market Hill

• Church Street, between Market Hill and Castle Street

• Castle Street, from Church Street to the B1119 Fore Street

• Fore Street, from Castle Street to Station Road

Wickham Market

On Street parking will be suspended on the following roads:

• Dallinghoo Road, from Broad Road to B1438 High Street

• B1078 High Street, along the Access Road from B1078 Wickham Bridge to Dallinghoo Road, Market Hill

• Broad Street, between Dallinghoo Road to the Little Lane junction

Tuddenham

On Street parking will be suspended on the following road:

The Street, between Fynn Lane and High Street

Woodbrige/ Melton

On Street parking will be suspended on the following road:

B1438 Melton Road, between Lime Kiln Quay and A1152 Wilford Bridge Road

Leiston

On Street parking will be suspended on the following road:

Waterloo Avenue, between St Margarets Crescent and Station Road

Aldeburgh

The following roads will be closed:

• High Street, between Park Road and Wentworth Road

• Crabbe Street

• Crag Path

• King Street

• Alde Lane

• Market Cross Place

• Victoria Road, between Market Cross Place and High Street, and all side roads going between High Street and Crag Path

• Victoria Road, between the roundabout and High Street, will be closed between 1.30pm and 4pm on Friday, September 8, to accommodate the race as it comes through to the finish line.

On-street parking will be suspended on the following roads:

• Wentworth Road

• Thorpe Road, between Aldeburgh and Thorpeness

• Leiston Road, between roundabout and Crag Pit Nurseries

Car parks which will be closed from the public

• Oakley Square

• King Street

• Fort Green

• Slaughden Quay

All vehicles will need to be removed from these areas ahead of the restrictions coming into force. Any vehicle left parked on any of these roads will be issued with a parking ticket, and then towed to King’s Field for collection.

Free car parking available to the public - please note that all car free car parks will be locked at 6.30pm

• King’s Field Recreation Ground, on Park Road, Aldeburgh

• Ogilvie Pavilion and Sports Ground, in Thorpeness

• Thorpeness Golf Club Practice Pitch, in Thorpeness

A free shuttle bus will be available in Aldeburgh on Friday to transport people from the free parking in Thorpeness from 10am to 6pm.

The bus will leave approximately every 25 minutes from 10am to 2.45pm at both Ogilvie Pavilion and Sports Ground and Thorpeness Golf Practice Pitch.

It will return from Thorpe Road Car Park every 25 minutes from 3.30pm until 6pm.

Ipswich

This year the race will only be in Ipswich for two to three minutes.

It will come through on Tuddenham road, then to Colchester road and into Kesgrave.
