The Mock the Week presenter is set to headline the Suffolk festival’s comedy line-up along with Katherine Ryan and Simon Amstell, when it returns to Henham Park, near Southwold, this July.

Now in its 12th outing, Latitude has developed a reputation for its diverse entertainment offer and boasts the largest comedy line-up in the UK.

Latitude’s curator of the arts, Tania Harrison said: “Latitude prides itself in showcasing the very best artists, both emerging and established, and in the comedy bill you’ll find newcomers, rising stars and international acts.”

Ó Briain, who is well known for his television work, will be headlining alongside Ryan, another panel show regular, fresh from the recently released Katherine Ryan: In Trouble on Netflix. Amstell, who appeared on Popworld and Never Mind the Buzzcocks, recently co-wrote the series Grandma’s House, following a number of international sold-out tours.

Other comedians include Chris Ramsey, of 8 Out of 10 Cats, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and All Growed Up; Joel Dommett from E4’s Skins and 2016’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, and BBC3 Edinburgh Comedy Marathon host Andrew Maxwell.

Brighton’s Seann Walsh, Appollo regular Andy Parsons and performance poet Tim Key are some of the other acclaimed acts added to this year’s bill alongside Richard Herring, Nishsh Kumar and Trigger Happy TV star Dom Jolly.

Soho Theatre will be taking up residence in The Cabaret Tent, joined by the collective Duckie showcasing Nancy Boy Revolution as well as Ida Barr, Timberlina and Desmond O’Connor’s Vive La Resistance.

Other announcements have been made for the Lake Stage bill, with acts handpicked by BBC Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens, including headliners Cabbage, Jorja Smith and The Magic Gang.

“Cabbage are immense on stage,” said Stephens. “They’ve really made a mark with their live gigs. Jorja was last seen onstage with Drake, appearing on ‘More Life’. And The Magic Gang have emerged as one of the most exciting live bands around.”

Joining this years’ headliners The 1975, Mumford and Sons and Fleet Foxes, on the Obelisk Arena is German folk-crossover duo Milky Chance.
