IPSWICH: A chef’s culinary journey came to an end in front of millions of television viewers due to a squirt of lemon juice.
Pitted against some of the best in the industry during his “15 minutes of fame”, Ben Taylor, of Ipswich, bowed out of Masterchef last night.
Mr Taylor, of Clarkson Street, was shown earlier this week making a perfectly “smooth” hollandaise sauce, although he was criticised by the judges for his use of lemon in his dishes on both occasions.
Last night’s show saw him serve up a roast rump of lamb with crushed new potatoes for the show’s esteemed judges Michel Roux and Gregg Wallace.
Earlier this week the 33-year-old said: “My Masterchef experience was relatively short-lived but it was a fun experience cooking in a studio under pressure.”
